I grew up in Blacksburg, Va. I attended Radford University in Virginia and graduated with a BS in Elementary Education in 1994. I moved to North Carolina and started my teaching career with Thomasville City Schools in 1998. After 5 years, I transferred to the Randolph County School System. I have taught grades 1-4. I achieved National Board Certification in 2002. I am married with one son. As an animal lover, I have several pets. I am a loyal Virginia Tech Hokie fan and love college football. My favorite place to vacation is in the Blue Ridge Mountains. I also enjoy spending time with family and enjoying nature.
