Several students from third grade won 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in the district/local level for their Watershed poster entry with the Randolph County Soil and Water competition. These students will receive prize money. We had two additional students take 4th and 5th place. The first place winner will move on to the state level for judging and be announced around May 1. Posters will be on display at their open house event on April 11th.

Mr. Grosch read Malala’s Magic Pencil to 3rd Graders this week for Leadership Reads at TES! 3rd grade students have recently studied Malala and her story in class.

Monday 3/2 we are kicking off Read Across America Week with a 1000 Minute Reading Challenge!!
All students are challenged to read (or be read to) for 1000 minutes between March 2nd and May 8th! Students can read at their own pace. Each student will record each 20 minutes read on their own goal paper. Parents, please initial each 20 minute block as your child reads. Every time you reach 100 minutes, color in a puppy paw to show your progress!
1000 minute reading papers will come home Monday 3/2. Please keep this in a safe place at home during the challenge. Your student will turn their paper in when they complete the challenge.
